Bassist Kevin Campbell does this song's original lead vocalist, David Palmer, proud with this performance. On their 1974 tour of the U.S. and England, Steely Dan had 19 year-old percussionist, Royce Jones, sing lead on "Dirty Work" at every show, along with either "Brooklyn" or "Any Major Dude" (but never both). When I saw them at the U. of Toledo on April 21, 1974, it was "Any Major Dude (Will Tell You)" from their 3rd album, "Pretzel Logic." Concert archives indicate that for the rest of that tour (which ended in July 1974) they performed "Brooklyn" instead.

Like I've never seen (apologies to Stevie Ray Vaugh, Eric Clapton, BB King, Trucks Tedeschi, Jimmy Page, Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and many others). Five guys melding into a miracle of musical mayhem and melody marshaled by the modern maestro of the acoustic guitar.
